Milnes Baker is an award-winning
architect who specializes in residential
design. He is the author of How
to Build a House with an Architect
published in 1988 by Harper & Row.
His work has appeared in numerous architectural
journals and three of his designs were
among Better Homes and Gardens' HOME
PLAN IDEAS' "TOP TEN ALL-TIME FAVORITES."
One of these houses, "an elegantly
simple contemporary saltbox," was
featured as their "readers' all
time favorite."
Mr. Baker is also
the author of American House
Styles: A Concise Guide
published by W. W. Norton & Co.
in 1994 and he taught courses on the
history of the American house at The
New School in New York City.
